Restoring Roof Performance After Hail and Wind Damage in Selma Homes
Storm damage roof repair and storm damage roof restoration in Selma help restore your roof’s ability to protect your home after severe weather. Early identification and proper repairs reduce the risk of leaks, interior damage, and long-term structural issues that often follow fast-moving Texas storms.
Most homeowners don’t notice storm damage right away. In Selma, weather systems often move quickly along the I-35 corridor, bringing sudden wind and hail that can weaken roofing materials without leaving obvious signs from the ground.
Areas near The Forum at Olympia Parkway and surrounding developments are especially exposed, with fewer natural wind barriers compared to more densely wooded neighborhoods.
That’s where problems tend to start.
Storm damage roof repair in Selma isn’t just about visible damage. It’s about identifying where your roof has been compromised before those weaknesses turn into leaks or interior issues. At Rox Roofing, we take a detailed, inspection-first approach and explain what we find so you can make informed decisions about your next steps.
If your property has recently gone through a storm, it’s worth taking a closer look.
Emergency Roof Repairs
After a storm, small vulnerabilities can quickly turn into larger problems, especially if another round of rain follows.
Our emergency storm damage roof repair services focus on stabilizing the roof as soon as possible:
- Temporary coverings to block water entry
- Reinforcing areas where materials have shifted or lifted
- Identifying sections most likely to fail under continued exposure
Addressing these issues early helps limit the extent of future storm damage roof restoration and keeps your home protected while permanent repairs are planned.
Insurance Claims Support
One of the most common concerns after a storm is understanding what actually happened to your roof and how to move forward.
While we don’t handle claims directly, we provide the information needed to support your claim with confidence.
This includes:
- A complete inspection with clear findings
- Photo documentation of storm-related damage
- Written reports you can share with your insurance provider
We also take time to explain what we’re seeing, so you’re not left trying to interpret roofing issues on your own.
Selma Hail Damage Roof Repair Services
A common issue we find in Selma is hail damage that doesn’t immediately stand out. Shingles may appear intact while their protective surface has already been compromised.
Over time, this can lead to:
- Loss of granules that protect against UV exposure
- Increased brittleness under continued heat
- Moisture working beneath the shingle layer
In many inspections, this type of damage becomes more noticeable weeks or months after the initial storm. Addressing it early with storm damage roof repair helps prevent more extensive restoration work later.
Wind Damage
Storm patterns moving across open areas in Selma often create wind conditions that impact roofs in less obvious ways.
Instead of tearing shingles off completely, wind typically:
- Lifts shingles just enough to break their seal
- Shifts ridge caps out of alignment
- Loosens flashing around vents and roof transitions
A frequent issue we encounter is delayed leaks caused by these small shifts. Once the seal is broken, water can gradually work its way underneath.
This is why storm damage roof repair focuses on identifying weakened areas, not just missing materials.

What Happens If Storm Damage Is Ignored?
One of the more common patterns we see is damage that starts small and spreads over time.
Left unaddressed, storm-related issues can lead to:
- Moisture moving beneath roofing layers
- Gradual weakening of roof decking
- Increased attic humidity
- Interior leaks and visible staining
By the time these signs appear, repairs are often more involved than they would have been earlier.
Storm Damage Roof Repair Questions Selma Homeowners Ask After Severe Weather
After a storm moves through Selma, it’s common to have questions about what damage to look for and how serious it might be. These answers address real concerns homeowners have after hail and wind events.
What are the first signs of storm damage on a roof in Selma?
The first signs of storm damage on a roof in Selma often include missing shingles, granule buildup in gutters, or dented metal components. These early indicators suggest your roof may have been compromised and should be inspected.
Can storm damage affect parts of the roof I can’t see from the ground?
Storm damage can affect parts of the roof you can’t see from the ground by weakening areas beneath the surface. Issues like lifted shingles or damaged underlayment often go unnoticed without a professional inspection.
Is it safe to stay in my home if my roof has storm damage?
It is usually safe to stay in your home if your roof has storm damage, but active leaks or structural concerns should be addressed immediately. A quick inspection helps determine if temporary protection is needed.
How does heavy rain make storm damage worse?
Heavy rain makes storm damage worse by pushing water into small openings created by wind or hail. Once water gets beneath roofing materials, it can spread and cause hidden damage.
Can storm damage impact my attic or insulation?
Storm damage can impact your attic or insulation by allowing moisture to enter and build up over time. This can lead to higher humidity levels, reduced insulation performance, and potential mold growth.
What type of roofs are most vulnerable to storm damage in Selma?
Roofs most vulnerable to storm damage in Selma are typically older systems or those with previous repairs. Aging materials and weakened areas are more likely to fail under wind and hail conditions.

Admittedly, I don’t typically leave reviews, but I often use reviews when making large financial decisions. I know…. I’m trying to be better about leaving reviews. I think it’s safe to say that none of us look forward to having to replace/repair … More a roof. Yet, it’s one of the most important components of our homes. In July 2025, the west side of San Antonio had a destructive hailstorm. Based on the strength of the storm, I knew there was going to be damage to the roof. It sounded like baseballs hitting the house. While the storm was occurring (roughly 7pm) I pulled out my phone and dialed Rox Roofing because they did some work for me several years back at a different home. It was 7pm so I wasn’t expecting to hear from them until the following business day. Nope… 5 minutes later I was speaking with someone from Rox. Seriously, they called me well after business hours. I explained what was going on and they asked me if I had an active leak. I let them know that I was unaware of any leaks yet but wanted someone braver than me to climb onto my 2-story home. They said no problem; I will have a guy at your house by 9am the following day. If there is a leak we will put a temporary cover over it until it can be fixed. As promised, my doorbell rang at 8:45am. Not bad, impressive even… They took some pictures and showed me significant damage and suggested I contact my homeowner’s insurance to file a claim. The fact is… many of my neighbors also did the same. Some even had a new roof being put on the following week. My insurance company a big brand company (I will not name them to protect the guilty), sent someone out a few weeks later, just a few days shy of a month. When I asked why it would take so long I was told “because we are busy”. That sure didn’t feel “like a great neighbor” response. Anyway, the following day, I received a call from the person handling my claim from my insurance company. He stated that I had little damage, not enough to even file a claim due to the deductible. I asked them to send me their report so that I could compare it to the report I received from my roofer. A few weeks later after calling several times, I finally received the insurance company report. Sure, enough they showed only a few areas being affected. The problem with the report was it omitted several areas of the roof, so I contacted my insurance company again and requested a second review be carried out. As expected, he upped the damage by $1,000.00. After speaking with Rocky at Rox he asked if I wanted to push a little more, so I said yes. He offered a Public Adjuster that he had worked with in the past. Now enter PALCO, the public adjuster. They scheduled a person to come to my house and document what they found, independent of Rox and my insurance company. They took pictures and sent a report to me that again showed significant hail damage. I mean all the ventilation pipes looked like someone used them for target practice. Shingles missing, hail dents in the shingles, siding, screens etc.… In the end, the insurance company was forced to pay, but only because of Rox. The day of the installation the Rox team showed up and removed my roof by 11am and had the new one on by dinner. The site manager came the following day to do an inspection of my roof. He went over everything with me, no pressures, no problems… Call Rox if you want a solid roof and a solid team working on your behalf. Anytime anyone asks me who I used or would recommend, I hand them a business card for Rox. They’re my “go-to” roof team moving forward. -

BULLYS GARAGE ★★★★★ 2 months ago
I recently hired Rox Roofing for a roof repair and had an excellent experience. From the start, the inspector, Rey, was highly professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. He conducted a thorough inspection of my roof and siding, clearly … More explaining the issues and providing a fair quote without any pressure.
The repair work itself was completed efficiently and on schedule. The crew was respectful of my property, ensuring everything was cleaned up perfectly after the job was done. I truly appreciated the transparent communication and the high quality of workmanship. If you are looking for a reliable roofing company in San Antonio, I highly recommend asking for Rey at Rox Roofing.
